Michael E. Spiggos is an author who navigates the distinct realms of empirical science and profound artistic expression. An Electrical Engineer and educator by profession, with a Master’s degree in Environmental Design Of Cities and Buildings, he has cultivated a parallel, decades-long creative life shaped by poetry, music, and relentless philosophical inquiry.
Drawing from his extensive involvement in the music industry as a radio producer on his radio show “The Michael Spiggos Melodic Rock & Metal Radio Show” and being a press manager for international musical acts such as TEN/Gary Hughes, TAO, and Withering Season, Spiggos’s writing is infused with the intensity of symphonic, gothic, and progressive metal. His work is a convergence of the architectural discipline of the Gothic aesthetics of Poe, the fiery narrative pulse of Robert E. Howard, and the dark romanticism of Charles Baudelaire, all while bearing the existential weight of Nietzsche, Camus, Schopenhauer, and Ernest Becker.
Based on the Greek island of Corfu - a landscape of rich historical layers and natural contrasts - Spiggos is continually inspired by the dialogue between light and shadow, beauty and desolation and the fine line between passion and desire. His credits include scientific publications, speeches at scientific conferences, as well as participation with two chapters in the scientific book “Buildings, Climate, Energy” by Malliaris Paideia, and the poetry anthologies "Love’s red" by Dianoia Publications - with his Greek poem "Forgotten Dreams" and “Eros” by ItravelPoetry Publications, with his second Greek Poem "The Touch of Winter".
Following his debut collection Under the Rose, a work centered on the sacred war of love and the final surrender, Winterfall stands as its philosophical counterpoint: a meditation on endurance, silence, and the permanent winter of the soul in love’s aftermath.
